Floral Birthday

No this isn't my Inspiration Challenge card. I went to take the picture today, so I could post my cards here, but my batteries are dead. Wouldn't you know it - I also didn't have any extra batteries in the house, so I need to get some.

In the meantime, I don't think I shared this card yet here on my blog. I made this for my sister's birthday last month. I used one of the sketches that are provided on Saturdays over on the UDI Blog. It is a really fun sketch and I loved how this card turned out!

I used the Melon Mambo textured card stock for the base of the card. I love the subtle touch this adds to it as well. I popped the punched circles up with Stampin' Dimensionals. I alternated the color card stock behind the flowers, so the same color flower isn't paired up with the same color card stock.

Stamps: Eastern Blooms; On Your Birthday
CS: Melon Mambo Textured, Melon Mambo, Rich Razzleberry, Crushed Curry, Razzleberry Lemonade DSP
Ink: Rich Razzleberry
Other: Melon Mambo Marker, Rich Razzleberry Marker, Crushed Curry Marker, 1 1/4 Circle Punch, 1 3/8 Circle Punch, Melon Mambo Polka Dotted Ribbon, Stampin' Dimensionals

Thanks for stopping by!! Hope to post my UDI Inspiration cards before the weekend is over.

UDI Inspiration Challenge 69

It's been awhile, since I've been able to participate in the UDI Inspiration challenges. A wide varitey of issues, but I finally was able to take part this week! Of course, I come back to a week that was hard for me. I had different ideas running through my head, but none actually worked out. Below is the inspiration picture.

Here is the card that I made for the challenge. It didn't turn out exactly like I had wanted, but I left it as is. I went with a couple different things from the picture - the swirl, the tree trunk lines, and the speckled look (to me at least).

The swirl didn't actually come out on my card. I have a baby shower to go to this coming weekend, so thought I would make a card for it. I also used this past weeks UDI sketch challenge on this card.

Be sure to check out the other challenge team members to see what they came up with. You can find their blog links at the UDI Blog. Also you can check out the cards on SCS using keyword DivaIC69.

Supplies:
Stamps: Curvy Verses, Itty Bitty Backgrounds
CS: Pretty in Pink, Certainly Celery, WW
Ink: Pretty in Pink, Certainly Celery
Other: Pretty in Pink Grosgrain Ribbon, Large Oval Punch, Designer Label Punch, Stampin' Dimensionals, Stamping Sponges

Thanks for stopping by!!

Past Halloween Share

I've had these stamped for some time, but haven't been able to post them. They were loaded to my laptop, which has been giving me more fits lately. So, everytime I would finally get it to work - it would shut off before I could get these posted to my blog.

So, for what it's worth - here are 2 Halloween cards. These are the first Halloween cards I've ever made. I don't usually send out cards for this holiday, but got a cute set from The Stamps of Life and wanted to use them.

This first card actually never got mailed. So, I've already got one card ready for next year! I'm ahead of the game for once!! LOL!!

This second one I mailed to my goddaughter/niece. She's been playing catch-up with her school work, since she had surgery and was out for a couple weeks. She doesn't do the Trick or Treat anymore, but thought I'd send her the general Halloween card.

Supplies used for both cards:
Stamps: Thanks2Fall (The Stamps of Life)
CS: Pumpkin Pie, Basic Black, WW, Night & Day DSP
Ink: Pumpkin Pie, StazOn Black
Other: Scallop Circle Punch, 1 3/8' & 1 1/4' Circle Punches, Black Grosgrain Ribbon, Stampin' Dimensionals

Thanks for stopping by today!! If you haven't done so yet - please send Jaimie a card and/or say a prayer for her and her family (from my previous post). Let's shower this young girl with cards from all over the world!

Karen

Stamp Something....for Jaimie
Blog Hop Today

Today's blog hop is for an 11yr old girl named Jaimie. Below is information on why this blog hop is happening and the importance of it. Please join us in Stamping Something...for Jaimie this week. I joined the hop because my heart aches for this young girl, her family, friends, and this small community.

Join us on Monday, November 2nd for a Spread the Love Blog Hop and card drive!

New Hampshire is a small state filled with even smaller towns. It's the kind of place where you know everyone, leave your keys in the ignition when you run in the post office and don't worry about walking home from a neighbor's house at night. I live in the same town I grew up in by choice, not by necessity and love that my 6th grade music teacher is my daughter's principal, that my cheer leading coach is her guidance counselor and that soon she'll get the chance to beat my classmate's long standing high jump record on field day.

Mont Vernon is an even smaller town than mine about 40 minutes away. It is home to a long time friend and her family as well as their neighbor, 11 year old Jaimie Cates. On the night of October 4th Jaimie and her mom and my friend and her family went to bed with no way of knowing what events were about to transpire to change their lives.

Four local teenagers armed with knives, broke into their home and brutally murdered Kim Cates and seriously injured 11 year old Jaimie. They chose the home for no other reason than its location and for no other purpose than to bring harm to the occupants. It was a senseless, random crime that shook the small town and much of the state.

After receiving a grief filled email from my friend asking for help for the family, I knew I needed to help however I could. I asked my fellow stamper, New Hampshire gal, and long time friend Denise Lynn for ideas. Together, and with the artistic talents of Ann Vento, we came up with the idea of an international blog hop and this blog to raise awareness of the crime.
Here is the card I made for Jaimie. I wanted it to be simple, so that the message stands out. I will be praying for Jaimie and the recovery she will have to endure.

We are hoping to shower Jaimie with wishes of love and hope from around the world to help her recover some of what was lost. The hop starts at 10am ET on Monday, November 2nd and will include over 60 talented stampers, donations from fabulous stamp companies and lots of love. We are asking everyone to make and send a card to Jaimie as quickly as possible. If you are unable to make a card or wish to do more, please visit our sidebar at Stamp Something...for Jaimie and click on the donations link.

This is the inside of the card. I stamped off the tree once before stamping onto the card stock. I wanted it to be subtle image.

Please join us this week!! Listed below are the blog hop participants. If you came to my blog via Kim Howard then you are on the right track. If you came to my blog another way, then be sure to start at Katharina Frei's blog, so you don't miss anything. Also be sure to visit the Stamp Something...for Jaimie blog and visit the sponsors who generously donated goodies for this blog hop.
