Stamp Club - Last Card

This was the last card that we did at my stamp club last month. This was my favorite one. I used SC68, which can be found here. I love how the Shimmery White card stock sparkles and the color of the roses. This would make a good Mother's Day card - for those who made this. :) I didn't use greetings on all of the cards this time, so that they would be able to stamp a greeting and send if they wanted to.

All Supplies SU! unless otherwise noted:
Stamp Sets: Both Way Blossoms (Hostess); French Script BG (Both sets being retired, so get them while you can)
CS: Shimmery White, Pumpkin Pie, Apricot Appeal
Ink: StazOn Black, Pumpkin Pie
Other: Apricot Appeal, Pumpkin Pie, Garden Green Markers; Apricot Grosgrain Ribbon

Tagged

I was tagged by Shannon to post 7 things about myself - not sure how exciting my life is compared to others that I've read about, but here goes. :)

1. I'm the 6th out of 7 kids in my family.

2. I live 3 houses down from my parents (this can be both good and bad). :)

3. I work part-time in a clothing consignment shop.

4. I had to have my gall bladder out 6 months after my 2nd child was born.

5. I LOVE candy and junk food! So much so that when I was a kid, I had 12 cavaties at one dentist visit. My nieces (I only have 3 nephews and they don't hang out here much. :) love coming to my house - they say it is Aunt Karen's Candy Store!! :)

6. I'm a sports junkie! I love to watch almost any kind of sporting event on tv - better would be to attend a sporting event in person. My favorite *show* is SportsCenter on ESPN.

7. My favorite actor is Jim Carrey and I own almost all of his movies. I love his sense of humor!

So - there you go! Not a whole lot of exciting tidbits, but nonetheless - tidbits!!

Another Stamp Club Card

Here is another card we did at my stamp club. CC26 is the color challenge I used and SC102 is the sketch.
I love these colors together - so soft and pretty. The white is Shimmery White CS and it really sparkles IRL. I love using it, but do so sparingly - it is the 'hoarder' in me...don't want to run out of it!

All supplies SU! unless otherwise noted:
Stamps: Flowers for a Friend (Hostess), Floral BG
CS: Gable Green, Lavender Lace, Tempting Turquoise, Shimmery White
Ink: Gable Green, Lavender Lace, Tempting Turquoise
Other: Celery Grosgrain Ribbon, Stampin Dimensionals

Stamp Club Card

This was one of the cards that my stamp club made. I used a sketch challenge from SCS - SC119. The set used is Fresh Flowers - an old set, but my first time using it. I had to have this set and traded for it, but never pull it out to use. So, I was determined! :) (Of course, now that the Retired List is out - I see that Fresh Flowers is on it.) The background pieces were created by stamping pieces of the flower. I really liked how this card seemed to *pop*. The center of the flower is a black brad.

All supplies SU! unless otherwise noted -
Stamps: Fresh Flowers
CS: Pink Passion, Green Galore, Basic Black, WW
Ink: Pink Passion, Green Galore
Other: Black Gingham, Black Brad, 1/16" Circle Punch

Office Accoutrement - Spring Mini

This was one of the cards that we did at my March Stamp Club. Yep - just now getting a chance to post it...only a month behind! The sketch and color combo came from the SCS Challenges. I don't remember off the top of my head, which ones, but will look and update later. I wasn't sure about this set at first, but I really like it - the big flower is awesome!

All Supplies Stampin' Up! unless otherwise noted:
Stamps: Office Accoutrement

Blog Candy

Not from me (yet - although be watching here soon for that), but from another friend's blog. Be sure to check out We Luv Cardstock for your chance at some great blog candy. While you're there be sure to check out the artwork they post. Beautiful work by themselves (Kim & Sandy), as well as friends of theirs!

I promise to post some things I've done. I've been a bit under the weather lately - with working I've been tired, but have also been battling migraines on a daily basis. Definitely hasn't been fun and has been limiting my computer time because of them. UGH! Just took Mackenzie to the doctor as well and they think she has strep throat. I'm on my way to go get her antibiotic in a bit as well. Poor little thing!

Blogger RAK - Teresa Shaw

Unfortunately, this picture does not do this card justice (and is also way overdue for thanking)! It is so gorgeous - love the designer paper Teresa used!! I'm going to guess that the chipboard flower pieces were made using the Cuttlebug - if not...they are a close second! I've always enjoyed seeing Teresa's cards and what she makes next! You can too by going to her blog at Inkfully Yours and her SCS Gallery at jtkshaw. She has the new Papertrey Ink sets and Bellas too I see!!

Make sure to leave lots of praise in the galleries of the Blogger's and posts on their blogs to let them know you stopped by!
Blogger RAK - Lori Tecler

This is a long overdue thank you to Lori for this great RAK she sent me! I love the colors and this set too!! I also love the felt ric rac and designer paper!! She is a Marylander as well. :) You have got to check out her blog at Inkingaloud - I love seeing her work and case'ing her ideas! :) While you're checking out that - make sure you swing by her SCS gallery to see more awesome things!

Stamps for a Cause

I know - I haven't posted any actual stamped items for some time. I have some things to post, but just haven't had the time to photograph and get them loaded to my computer. I've been so busy and when I do get some free time...I'm either checking emails or sleeping. :)

Anyway - I wanted to post this now 1) it's for a very worthy cause and 2) I don't have my pictures ready yet. :)

Autism - did you know that autism affects 1 in 150 children? That is one too many children affected! You need to check out GinaK Designs. She has a special set that she designed where a portion of the sales will be going towards Autism Speaks. Be sure to get your set today and help support such a worthy cause!!

Circlin' Fun

I got this awesome Spunky Stamps set called Silly Circles in my last 2Jills scrapbooking kit. Aren't they awesome!! They are all different sizes of circles. I used the Color Challenge #92 for this card. I really like how the red and blue go together. It's hard to see, but I stamped different circles on the Real Red cardstock with Real Red ink. The velvet ribbon is from the Flirty Ribbon collection that was in the Winter Mini. Of course, I added some Prima flowers - one of my favorite embellishments and then topped it off with a Real Red brad. The 'birthday' stamp is from TAC's February stamp set of the month.

All supplies SU! unless otherwise noted
Stamps: Silly Circles (Spunky Stamps), The Good Life (TAC)
CS: Cool Caribbean, Real Red, WW
Ink: Cool Caribbean, Real Red
Other: Flirty Ribbon, Prima Flowers, Real Red Brad, Corner Rounder

Mixed Bouquet Birthday

I made this for a friend for her birthday (Happy Birthday Martha!)!! I am late as usual because she celebrated her birthday on Sunday and this is going out in the mail Monday. Go figure - I had it ready to be mailed Sat., but forgot! UGH!!

I used the Cool Caribbean Long Notes (with envelopes) that were available in the Winter Mini. I then decided to go to the Color Challenges on SCS. I thought this was a nice 'springy' combo.

All supplies SU! unless otherwise noted
Stamps: Mixed Bouquet, It's Your Birthday
CS: Cool Caribbean, Certainly Celery, Pretty in Pink, WW
Ink: Cool Caribbean, Certainly Celery, Pretty in Pink
Other: Flirty Ribbon

2Jills - Lucky or Not Challenge?

Over at 2Jills there is a blog challenge. This week is to post about whether you feel you are Lucky or Not.

Well, for those who have been around me for the last week would have heard me say 'if I didn't have bad luck, then I'd have no luck' a ton of times! It just seemed like if something could go wrong it did. However, looking at life in general - I am very lucky.

- I have 3 wonderful children to love and cherish
- a great husband (for the most part ;) )
- awesome friends
- my parents close by to watch my kids, so I can work
- I'm able to stamp and scrapbook each week (albeit not a lot of time, but some)
- my brother came home for a visit (first time in 3 yrs)
- my sister is recovering from being very sick

So, overall - yes I am Lucky!! There are so many other things for which I am lucky as well - of course, this will start to become a noval if I keep going.

TAC - Garden of Life

Well, it's been a couple days since I posted last (sorry R!!). I made this card the other night and have been meaning to post it. This set is Garden of Life from TAC. I got a new order in of TAC stamps and had to use them right away. I had some time to stamp and actually finished this card in one sitting - which for me lately is quite an achievement!! Usually when I sit down to stamp - all 3 of my kids flock to me and start grabbing, touching, pulling, etc and I end up stopping and putting things away.

Anyway - back to the card...this is a neat little set that has greetings included. I'm trying hard to use up scraps of card stock and not cut into whole sheets of card stock. So, this card uses all 'leftovers' I had. I stamped the flower 'border' from the set on Gable Green with Gable Green ink. I also sponged the WW edges with Bashful Blue. Then all layers were sponged with Close to Cocoa. The Gable Green piece is mounted on the Cameo Coral card base with dimensionals.

Supplies - all SU! unless otherwise noted
Stamps - Garden of Life (TAC)
CS - Cameo Coral, Gable Green, WW
Ink - StazOn Black, Gable Green, Cameo Coral, Summer Sun, Close to Cocoa, Bashful Blue
Other - Wide Celery Organdy Ribbon (SU retired), Flower Brads, Stamping Sponge, Blender Pen, Stampin Dimensionals

Blogger RAK - Charmaine

I got this super cute Blogger RAK from Charmaine the other day! I had some technical issues and couldn't get the image off of my camera until now. So, happy to finally post it because I just think it is so adorable - love the sparkle to the whale!! Of course, it has lots of green as well - my absolute fav color!!! Be sure to check out Charmaine's blog - she does awesome work and has some wonderful ideas posted to her blog!! Also, be sure to check out her gallery over on SCS - her id is CharmWarm.

Woohoo - got my first Blogger's RAK!! Isn't this just a super cute card!!?!?! Also - notice all that green used - my absolute fav color!!! Yeah me!! I am so thrilled to have gotten this awesome card!! Thank you so much Susan (susiestampalot)!! Be sure to check out Susan's blog. Love the scalloped oval of course too!! *grin*

Ribbon, Oh My!

Yep - you're seeing it right...more ribbon!! This is the rest of the ribbon I ordered from Jody's ribbon share. If you want in on any ribbon shares, be sure to check out her blog and sign up for the updates. She does them frequently and she is awesome!! You definitely won't be disappointed!

Isn't this striped ribbon delicious!?!!! Or as my 2yo says - 'licious'!! *grin* I'm so excited and can't wait to cut into it - well, that may be awhile because I like to just keep my ribbon nice and neat for some time. :)
More Goodies

Ok - I have the absolute BEST friends evah!!! Seriously - my girls take care of me and know how to cheer me up!! This awesome assortment of goodies was sent to me by my best friend, Rachel (hey girl!!). I used to go to her house all the time so the kids could play (ok, so we could play really!). Then they moved for her DH's job. :( I've missed her terribly and the boys too! Thank you so much girl! You really have no idea how this made my day!!! THANK YOU!! I love all of these goodies and can't wait to play with them. And YES - I do plan to do a layout using the pictures you took ages ago of Trenton and I. I'll be sure to send them to you when I get them finished.

Thank you again girl - love ya!! Mwah!!!

Stamp Club - Card #3

This is the final card that my stamp club made. This was my personal favorite of the 3. :) All the cards that they made were Spring theme because I am tired of winter, cold, snow, ice, etc. This card was CASEd (Copy and Steal Everything) from another stamper on SCS. You can view her original card here. I changed the stamp sets, but kept the layout and colors basically the same. I sponged the Coral on the edges of both of the Confetti White pieces. The main flower was colored using the markers. If you want to line up the outline on the main flower better - you can use the Stamp-a-ma-jig. We didn't because I can't find where I put mine. *blushing*

All Supplies SU! unless otherwise noted
Stamps: Heartfelt Thanks, Floral BG
CS: Cameo Coral, So Saffron, Certainly Celery, Confetti White
Ink: Cameo Coral, So Saffron, Certainly Celery, Basic Black
Other: Cameo Coral & Certainly Celery Markers, Celery Grosgrain Ribbon, Stampin' Dimensionals, Stamping Sponge
Stamp Club - Card #2

When this set first came out - I just had to have it! I have hardly used it though, since its purchase - not sure why because I think it is such a cute set! Again - I used a sketch from SCS which can be found here. The frog is watercolored using the ink pads (ink in the lid) and a blender pen.

All Supplies SU! unless otherwise noted
Stamps: Frolicking Frogs
CS: Confetti Cream, Always Artichoke, Mellow Moss
Ink: Always Artichoke, Mellow Moss, Creamy Caramel, Close to Cocoa, Ruby Red, StazOn Black
Other: Mat Pack, Gold Brads, Blender Pen
Stamp Club - Card #1

This was one of the cards that my stamp club made last night. I got the sketch from the SCS sketch challenge. I know I've mentioned the challenges over at SCS before, but seriously - they are awesome to jump start you. This sketch was fairly simple and was a nice change to trying to do an *over the top* sketch card. I used the Roses in Winter set and the birthday greeting is from It's Your Birthday. I also used my Itty Bitty Backgrounds for the *speckle* on the card. The rose itself is a 3-step flower - meaning there are 3 stamps to create it. The base, the middle (which was stamped off once), and then the top layer.

All supplies SU! unless otherwise noted
Supplies: Roses in Winter, It's Your Birthday, Itty Bitty Backgrounds
CS: Lavender Lace, Not Quite Navy, Confetti White
Ink: Lavender Lace, Lovely Lilac, Not Quite Navy, Old Olive
Other: Olive Narrow Organdy Ribbon

Cakeabella Birthday

Another belated birthday card, this one is for my niece though. Another Bella stamp used here - Cakeabella. I used my Happy Birthday Cuttlebug embossing folder on the yellow card stock. This was a fairly simple card to do, which is what I needed since I was already late! I colored in Cakeabella using various inks as the previous card. Layered her onto Cranberry Crisp card stock. I tied the ribbon around the card first and then popped up Cakeabella with Stampin Dimensionals.

All supplies SU! unless otherwise noted
Stamps: Cakeabella (Stamping Bella)
CS: WW, Yoyo Yellow, Cranberry Crisp
Ink: Basic Black, various colors for watercoloring
Other: Aqua Painter, Cranberry Stitched Grosgrain Ribbon, Stampin Dimensionals, Happy Birthday Cuttlebug embossing folder
Flowahbella Birthday

I love the whimsical look that these Bellas have! There are so many to choose from and all have cute little names. If you don't know what I'm talking about, check out Emily's site at Stamping Bella. This one is Flowahbella and it is a belated birthday card for my SIL. I colored her in using an Aqua Painter and the ink pads (squeeze the pad so the ink gets on the lid for coloring). The patterned paper is from TAC and I believe it is the Genevieve collection (off the top of my head). The Happy Birthday is also TAC. I used the word window punch from SU! to punch the greeting out. I wrapped Orchid Grosgrain around the whole card to finish it off.

All Supplies SU! unless otherwise noted
Stamps: Flowahbella (Stamping Bella), Happy Birthday (TAC)
CS: Not Quite Navy, Orchid Opulence, WW, PP (TAC)
Ink: Basic Black, various colors for watercoloring
Other: Word Window Punch, Orchid Grosgrain Ribbon, Aqua Painter
Spring Mini Catalog

This set is in the SU! Spring Mini Catalog that will be available for purchase starting March 1st. There are so many sets and items in the Spring Mini that I want. I only have a couple of the items from my preorder, but I'm hoping to get a couple more sets that I put of preordering. This card uses the Polka Dots & Petals set and the saying is from the Polka Dots & Paisley set (both in the Mini). I really like these colors together as well. It reminds me of Spring, which I would really like to come soon! This cold weather is no fun anymore - especially today. The wind makes it even colder - quite chilly taking Madison to school this morning!! WOW!

Ok - back to the card. *grin* The base of the card is Cool Caribbean (love this color and wish it would stay, but come July it will be retired). I took the little flower type stamp and stamped all over WW in Certainly Celery ink (another fav color of mine). I randomly stamped a smaller piece of WW with the other stamps in the set - Cool Caribbean, Certainly Celery, and Barely Banana. I layered this piece onto Certainly Celery card stock. I stamped the flower in the circle and punched it out - layered onto Certainly Celery. I put a brad in the center and popped it up with a Stampin Dimensional. After this whole piece was adhered to the WW, I wrapped ribbon around it. Then adhered the whole piece onto the Cool Caribbean. I stamped the greeting in Cool Caribbean (a little crooked I see now). *grin* The colors are so refreshing - I figured it wouldn't hurt to stamp cards and maybe the weather would change sooner! :)

All Supplies SU! unless otherwise noted
Stamps: Polka Dots & Petals, Polka Dots & Paisley
CS: Cool Caribbean, Certainly Celery, WW
Ink: Cool Caribbean, Certainly Celery, Barely Banana
Other: Barely Banana Brad, Circle Punches, Celery Grosgrain Ribbon, Ric Rac (Flirty Ribbon), Stampin Dimensional

Creative Blah

Well, lately I've been in a creative blah. We've been sick again at our house and it truly drains me. My oldest also had her tonsils out this past Monday, so on top of being sick...I'm trying to keep her as comfortable as I can. I feel so bad for her when the pain medicine wears off. She's been a huge trooper though and for the most part is doing really well. So, with everything going on...I just haven't felt like stamping or scrapbooking. Could also be the mess in my area because I have no energy (nor desire :) to clean it up. I had to withdraw from a couple swaps as well because I just don't have it in me.

This all said - on one of the many message boards I belong to (2Jills), one of the owners of the business/board is battling cancer. I wanted to send her a card to help brighten her day, as my days in no way compare to what she is going through. So, last night I sat down and stamped her this card. I really like how it turned out as well - a shock since I've been in a scrampin' rut. Hope it helps to put a smile on her face if only for a short while.

I used the D'vine Swirl for my Cuttlebug machine. I got the embossing folder at All That Scraps - she has TONS of items in stock and offers free shipping on orders over $10. Can't beat that even going to the store (gas, time, tax, etc). :) I also use my new SU! tag punch that is in the Spring Mini (will be available for purchase come March). I first embossed the greenish paper (from TAC ). I then sanded the raised swirls to reveal the white core of the patterned paper. I stamped the flowers from Happy Harmony (SAB set from SU) with markers. I edged the certainly celery card stock with the Taken with Teal pad to make it *pop*. I used the Tag Punch (so glad I bought it!!!) and adhered it to the flower piece with black brads. I stamped 'smile' first before attaching. The smile is from TAC, as is the Just Because. I used both Oval punches from SU! and the Horizontal Slit punch to thread the celery ribbon through. Both the flower piece and the oval piece are popped up with Stampin' Dimensionals.

All supplies SU! unless otherwise noted
Stamps: Happy Harmony (SAB), both greetings (TAC)
CS: Taken with Teal, Certainly Celery, WW, PP (TAC)
Ink: Taken with Teal
Other: Tag Punch, Small Oval Punch, Large Oval Punch, Horizontal Slit Punch, 1/16 Circle Punch, Markers - Taken with Teal, Bordering Blue & Certainly Celery, Celery Grosgrain Ribbon, Stampin' Dimensionals, Sanding Block, Black Brads (from Vintage Brads pack), Cuttlebug D'vine Swirl Embossing Folder

Overdue UHU Review

This is a way overdue review on UHU glue products. On Maria's blog they were offering free samples to crafters who had a blog. All we had to do was post a review on their products on our blogs after trying it out. Well, after some time, I've finally had a chance to use the UHU glues I received - the UHU stic and UHU twist & glue. The glue stic is like any other glue stick except that this is colored. It states that it dries clear, however, I used it with a transparency on a scrapbook layout and you can see some of the purple still. It isn't all that noticeable (unless you are looking for it though), so I didn't mind too much.

The twist & glue I used on the coaster magnet below. I made them for a swap I was in. I covered the coasters with SU!'s Designer Paper on the front and just regular card stock on the back (since this is where the magnet was going - no need to waste good designer paper :). I used the twist & glue and liked how it is 2 different sized applicators. There is a fine dispenser or twist it and it becomes a wider dispenser for covering more area in less time. I really like how well the glue held the paper and didn't cause it to curl or warp either. I will say that either I am overly sensitive to their product or it is just strong in general - be sure to work in a ventilated area when using the twist & glue. :) Of course, I did make a couple of these, so maybe that is why I noticed the glue smell more.

Sorry for the blurry picture here - I thought it was clear enough and had already packaged these up to mail out.

All items SU! unless otherwise noted
Stamps: Polka Dots & Paisley (SU Spring Mini)
CS: WW, Old Olive, Designer Paper (forget from which collection I used though)
Ink: Old Olive
Other: Markers - Old Olive & Elegant Eggplant, Eggplant Grosgrain Ribbon, Stampin' Dimensionals, Stamping Sponge, UHU twist & glue, Magnet

Thank you Lynne!

I had a friend over the other day to stamp. We were working on swaps (I know - what else!). Anyway - she shows up at my house with all these goodies for me!!! I was totally shocked! I truly appreciate all the goodies Lynne! She got me stamps, Stickles, Glitter Gel Pens, candles, and a cute little pail that she put it all in.

I've been meaning to post this since she gave it to me, but life had other plans for me. So, thank you from the bottom of my heart Lynne!! *grin*
Cool Caribbean and Pixie Pink Swap

I told you I was in a few swaps...yep, this was another one I did. It was for ATC's and I had picked the color combination of Cool Caribbean and Pixie Pink (the hostess had a couple different combos to sign up for). I used the Festive Four set and the Loves Me Double-Sided Designer Paper. I thought they turned out really cute actually. *grin* I got my other swaps back today and they are all fabulous!!

All Supplies SU! unless otherwise noted
Stamps: Festive Four, Expressive Flexible Phrases (I think that is the right one)
CS: Cool Caribbean, Pixie Pink, WW, Loves Me Double-Sided Designer Paper
Ink: Basic Black
Other: Blender Pen (with various inks), Black Gingham Ribbon, Word Window Punch, Black Brad, Stampin' Dimensionals, Square Punch
Ribbon and Ribbon and MORE Ribbon!!

Ok - so those that know me know I LOVE ribbon!! I use it on practically everything I create. Do you see the delilcious ribbon above?!?!!! I got all that gorgeous ribbon from Jody. Well, she is hostessing another ribbon share (bless her heart)!! So, if you want to get in on this great deal just visit her blog Confessions of a Ribbon Addict here. She also has a *striped* ribbon share and a Prima Flowers share going on now too! On top of all this - the girl is an awesome stamper to boot (she is a DD member on SCS - no surprise there though)!! You won't be disappointed!

Swap Card - Spring Mini

This is one of the cards I did for a swap. It is Polka Dots & Paisley from the Spring Mini ('07). It is such a fun set to use. The colors are from the In Colors ('07) selection. I also did some doodling on this card - the white dots (anywhere on the card) are made with the White Uni-Gel Pen.

All Supplies SU! unless otherwise noted -
Stamps: Polka Dots & Paisley
CS: Cool Caribbean, Vintage Violet, WW
Ink: Cool Caribbean, Vintage Violet
Other: White Uni-Gel Pen, Violet Stitched Grosgrain Ribbon, Silver Brad, Markers, Cutter Kit (for the distressing)

Stamp Club - Mixed Bouquet

This is the final card that my Stamp Club did for the different size cards. This is a 5x5 card. I really like this size, but often forget to do this size until I've already cut the cardstock.

Another favorite is the stamp set - Mixed Bouquet from SU!'s main catalog. I love flower sets and this is no exception! The coordinating wheel also makes this a quick card to accomplish.

All Supplies SU! unless otherwise noted -
Stamps: Mixed Bouquet, Small Sayings (Winter Mini), Jumbo Wheel - Bouquet
CS: WW, Tempting Turquoise, Apricot Appeal
Ink: Tempting Turquoise, Apricot Appeal, Certainly Celery
Other: Apricot Grosgrain Ribbon, Paper Piercer, Mat Pack
Stamp Club - Like it a Latte

Another project for my stamp club featuring different sized cards than the normal 4.25x5.5 size. This size is 6x3.25 and fits in the Small Open-End Envelopes that SU! sells. I tend to always make the *traditional* size, so it was fun to do something different!

It's been really cold here as of late - no snow, but surely cold enough! So, this one reminded me of some nice warm hot chocolate/coffee. :) The Chocolate Chip piece is done using Faux Stitching. The *beans* were stamped off once and then stamped onto the Confetti White so they were a shade lighter.

All Supplies SU! unless otherwise noted -
Stamps: Like it a Latte
CS: Close to Cocoa, Chocolate Chip, Confetti White
Ink: Close to Cocoa, Chocolate Chip
Other: Paper Piercer, Mat Pack, Cranberry Stitched Grosgrain Ribbon, Brads (from Vintage Brads), Stampin' Dimensionals

Stamp Club - Very Punny

For my stamp club, I tend to a theme of sorts. This month the *theme* was not your ordinary size card. So, the 3 cards we did were of different sizes. Sorry for the blurry picture here (I just couldn't get a decent shot of this one!).

This is one of the Pocket Love Notes that are featured in the SU! Winter Mini. They come in Pretty in Pink (as seen here), Chocolate Chip, and Very Vanilla - 30 with envelopes for $9.95. These are perfect for little thank you notes (to teachers, a neighbor, etc), a gift card slipped in a gift bag, and can even be added to the front of a regular size card offering a *surprise* message to the recipient. **Note - these are not mailable through the USPS

The set Very Punny is a SU! Sell-A-Bration set that you can choose for FREE with a $50 order. Nothing better than free rubbah!! This is such a fun and cute set. Be sure to check out the different sets in the SAB mini catalog!

All Supplies SU! unless otherwise noted -
Stamps: Very Punny
CS: Pretty in Pink Pocket Love Notes, Chocolate Chip, Confetti White, Loves Me Double-Sided Designer Paper
Other: Markers - Pretty in Pink & Chocolate Chip, Flirty Ribbon (blue ric rac), Circle Punch, Staple

Another Swap Card

This was another swap card I did recently. The swap was to use vellum on the card. I stamped the vellum with the French Flair BG in Craft White. Make sure you set aside to dry or use a light touch of the heat gun (if you're impatient :). I really like how this one turned out - much nicer IRL though. The colors are so rich together and the vellum added just the right touch. You can't see it in the photo, but I took the Old Olive marker and colored on the backside of the birds on the vellum. Not sure I liked that part though, so I would leave it off next time.

Supplies:
Stamps:Carte Postale, French Flair BG
CS:Eggplant Envy, Old Olive, WW, Vellum
Ink:Craft White, Eggplant Envy, Old Olive
Other:Designer Label Punch, Circle Punch (the flower is punched out and popped up on dimensionals), Stampin' Dimensional, Brad (from the Vintage Brads)

Swamped in Swaps

I have been swamped the past 2 weeks in doing swaps! I got through spurts where I don't do any swaps and then all of sudden I'll be signed up for 10 or more!!! YIKES!! Of course, usually when I do this they end up being due around the same time.

Anyway - I made the above card (sorry for the terrible picture) for one of the swaps. It uses the Carte Postale set and the French Flair BG set from the Winter Mini catalog. Neither are really my type of sets, but I have loved seeing what everyone has done with them. So, of course, I needed to get it and try it out as well.

The BG looks like I stamped the French Flair in white, but I actually did Tone on Tone - Ruby Red.

Supplies:
Stamps:Carte Postale, French Flair BG, Sincere Salutations
CS:WW, Ruby Red, Vintage Violet
Ink:Ruby Red, Vintage Violet
Other:Markers - Ruby Red & Mellow Moss, Blender Pen for Vintage Violet, Vintage Violet Stitched Grosgrain Ribbon, Double Rectangle Punch, Stampin' Dimensionals

They are so cool - can't wait to use them!

Here are the 2 kits for February - for the specific list of items in each kit be sure to check out the website.

Purple/Green All Over

I am on numerous stamping/scrapbooking groups - yes I have an addiction! Anyway - in those groups I join various different swaps, mailings, etc - yes another addiction. I made this for the Birthday Exchange Group on one of the groups. I made this same card, except with the initial 'j' - I figured it would be easier to make the same card for everyone than switching. Good thing there were only 2 birthdays for January. *wink*

I did have fun making this card! The ribbon was the inspiration for the color combo. I stamped the Dotted BG on Green Galore with Green Galore ink. I'm really glad I got this BG stamp - it so fun and provides a unique design to any card. I then stamped the label outline (Paper Salon) in Green Galore ink. Inside I stamped 'b' from the Best Friends Alphabet Lower set. I used my Coluzzle to cut the circles. I then punched on each side of the circle using the Horizontal Slot punch - this is a great punch for using to thread ribbon through. I LOVE Primas, so what's a card without them!?!?!! Again - used the ribbon to pick the colors. I put the brads through the Primas first. Then adhered them to the card with glue dots (I have a hard time letting the brads show through the card- inside). Not sure why, but I do - so that is why I used glue dots to adhere them. The greeting is stamped with Lovely Lilac - it is from the SU Winter Mini Catalog - Small Sayings.

All Supplies SU! unless otherwise noted:
Stamps:Best Friends Alphabet Lower, Dotted BG, Monogram Builder (Paper Salon)
CS:WW, Green Galore, Lovely Lilac
Ink:Green Galore, Lovely Lilac
Other:Glue Dots, Horizontal Slot Punch, Coluzzle, Non-SU:Ribbon, Primas, Brads

SCS - Sketch Challenge 105

I made this card using the Sketch Challenge 105 on SCS that can be found here. I also made it for a challenge on another group to make a Valentine's Day card. I don't really do much in the way of Valentine's, so I used sets that had 'heart' images. I'm telling you - when you need help in the way of sketches, colors, inspiration, etc - you MUST go to the SCS challenges. Do a couple in the same category and you'll be surprised how your mind will just start to create your own creations then! Of course, while I don't do much for Valentine's day - I LOVE the candy that is abundant during this time!!! :D

All Supplies (c) SU! unless otherwise noted
Sets: Festive Four, Dotted BG, Small Sayings
CS: WW, Rose Red, Regal Rose, Certainly Celery
Ink: Rose Red, Regal Rose, Certainly Celery, Bashful Blue, Basic Black
Other: Word Window Punch, Rose Grosgrain Ribbon, Celery Grosgrain Ribbon, Stampin' Dimensionals, Blender Pen, Coluzzle (for the 1/2 circle)

Finally

Well - I am finally able to upload! Thanks to Allison for letting me know I'm not alone in this!! :) I also read on another stamper's blog that she switched from blogger to another site because of this issue as well.

Anyway - this is an ATC swap I participated in. The theme is to use a $1 stamp from Michael's somewhere on the ATC with any other supplies we wanted. My $1 stamp here is the A Little Something one. I'm not as happy with the outcome of this - my cutting skills stink as evidenced by my uneven circle! I love making ATC's because they are so easy and quick to do. They are perfect for doing up a bunch and then when needing - just add them to the front of a card and voila!

Supplies:
Stamps:Be Happy (SU!), A Little Something ($1 Michael's)
CS:Pixie Pink, Certainly Celery, WW, PP (unknown)
Ink:Basic Black, Pink Passion
Other:Pink Gingham Ribbon, Stampin' Dimensionals

UGH!! This is starting to irritate me! It seems like ever since the New Year - every time I go to post on my blog with a picture....I get an error message. Again tonight - I have tried to upload a card and no luck.

So - this is causing problems with updating my blog daily as my New Year's resolution!! See - I make a resolution and this is what happens. :)

I'll keep trying tonight to post, but in case you don't see anything...you'll know why.

Dragonfly

Here is a card I made the other night. The Dragonfly stamp is from Lasting Impressions with Panache (LIWP). I needed a quick and easy card and this did the trick. :)

Supplies:
Stamps:Dragonfly
CS:VV, Always Artichoke
Ink:Craft Vanilla, Always Artichoke
Other:Sahara Sand Eyelets, Crop-a-Dile

Sorry for the late and short post. I'm not feeling well and fell asleep early. Of course, whenever I do that - I end up waking up and being up for a couple hours then. Anyway - I'm hoping since I am actually letting my body rest that I will start to feel better soon. We'll see.

Wednesday, January 03, 2007

Ok - well, I came to post another card, however, blogger isn't being cooperative with me. I keep getting a message that they can't complete my request at this time. So, I will try again, but since I had said I was going to post another card - I figured I would post why it isn't here yet.

For those who have been sick - I hear ya!! My whole family has been sick since the end of November!! I now have a head cold and today it was killing me. I felt like my head was going to explode and slept a good bit as well. I'll definitely be VERY happy when we are all healthy and germ free!! :)

I'll keep trying to upload, but just wanted to let you know why the card isn't on here yet. :(
Forever Friends

Well, I guess technically you could say I already broke my resolution for the New Year. :) Of course, since I'm still up - I consider it to still be the 2nd. (Like my reasoning. :) Seriously - I've had this scan ready to post, however, I took the picture with my new digital a couple times and it was 'washed out' every time. So, I kept deleting them and decided to just use my old digital to get the picture until I can figure out my new camera. We'll see - the whole purpose of the new camera was to take pictures that I could post. I'm hoping it wasn't a waste of money now!

Now back to the important thing at hand - I stamped this card for the color challenge on Inky Antics. The color challenge was simply to use pink - in honor of Keri's (Sereikastamper on SCS and IA) birth of her daughter. This was the first time using all of the stamps on this card as well. I had fun and loved using my scalloped circle punches too!

Supplies:
Stamps:Snow Girlfriends & Snowflake BG (Inky Antics), Forever Friends (A Muse Artstamps)
CS:WW, Pixie Pink, Only Orange, PP
Ink:Pixie Pink, Only Orange, Basic Black, Certainly Celery, Close to Cocoa
Other:Scalloped Circle Punches (Giga & Mega), Paper Piercing Tool, White Gel Pen, Aqua Painter, Stampin' Dimensionals

Now, since I am posting this card so late...I will be posting another card later on (after I sleep of course).

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!

Well, it is officially 2007, so I wanted to wish all of my blog readers a wonderful New Year!! All the best to all of you in 2007!!

We didn't do anything special - just stayed home and watched the ball drop. DH was finally off for New Year's Eve, but we decided to just stay home with the kids. Of course, they were in bed way before now - none of them are feeling the greatest. My oldest 2 have head colds and my little guy is cutting teeth - which I still can't believe. He is already 9 months!! Time sure does fly - as I told my DH...I couldn't believe it was already January 1, 2007!!!

WOOHOO - HAPPY NEW YEAR everyone!!

One of my resolutions for the New Year - updating my blog daily. So, I'm really hoping to keep this one...seeing how I have you all that will know if I break it. ;) Also R - she keeps me on track!! Love ya girl!! :)
New Goodies - Yeah!!

I got a gift card to AC Moore for Christmas day from my in-laws. Well, if you know me, money doesn't last long in my possession. :) As my DH says, it burns a hole in my pocket. So, the other night we went and I got to go shopping with my gift card. I wasn't sure what I would get and had some other items in my cart, but put them back when I saw these.

I got the Autumn Leaves (Rhonna Farrar) stamps and these 3 A Muse Artstamps!! YEAH!! The drink stamp is one I've seen used before and always thought it was cute. Then the saying stamp - LOVE it!! I've been wanting this stamp for what seems like forever! From the very first time I saw it - I wanted it. It says 'The road to a friend's house is never long.' - Danish Proverb Also - the last stamp says Forever Friends. I didn't realize that our AC Moore sold A Muse stamps, so I am just totally thrilled about this!! Can't wait to create some things with my new goodies!! :)

jOy in the LitTLe ThiNgS

I made this card with my new set - Polka Dots & Paisley - from SU!. This was a gift from SU! to their Demos. :) This set will be available in the Spring Mini 2007 from SU!. I think it is super cute and can't wait to play more with it.

I used the Color Challenge on SCS (can be found here - CC93 ) to make this card. I know I've mentioned it before, but the challenges on SCS are great to jumpstart creativity. I love seeing how others use the challenges - the differences in each idea utilizing the same starting point.

Supplies:
Stamps:Polka Dots & Paisley
CS:Chocolate Chip, Sage Shadow, Blush Blossom, Basic Grey PP
Ink:Chocolate Chip, Sage Shadow
Other:Sage Shadow & Rose Red Markers, Chocolate Chip Grosgrain, Rose Red Stitched Ribbon (Ribbon Originals), Ticket Corner Punch, Stamping Sponge, Stampin' Dimensionals

We had a good Christmas - aside from being sick still. The kids had so much fun opening their gifts and helping Trenton open his. Of course, Mackenzie likes her toys, but thinks the toys Madison and Trenton got are much better. :) We're still recuperating from the 'hustle and bustle', as well as, trying to get better from being sick. The kids are getting head colds, Madison woke with a fever today, and Dave had to call the doctor again to see about getting a different medicine - BUT other than that....we're movin' on! :D

Hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas and is looking forward to a bright and prosperous New Year!! All the best for everyone in 2007!!

Wishing everyone the best this holiday season!!

Sweet Stuff

This is one of the new SAB sets from Stampin' Up! called Very Punny. I got it to do swaps and this is my swap card I made (40 of these to be exact :). The set itself is sooo cute and I love the little sayings that go with each image. If you haven't gotten your SAB set yet - you will. The sets are as always so cute and something to appeal to each stamper's style. I'm trying to be good and not preorder any of the other ones - I figure I will earn them (at least I'm hoping too).

Are you ready yet for Christmas? I'm not! I haven't wrapped a thing, still have some shopping to do, haven't sent all my cards yet, and still working on some gifts that I'm making. So, what am I doing on my blog - procrastinating of course!! LOL!! I did get some pages done last night for 2 7x7 scrapbooks I'm making. My friend came over and we stamped/scrapped. Of course, I probably would have gotten more done if the phone didn't ring and the kids didn't want something everytime I sat down! :)

I love this time of year!! The hustle and bustle I can do without, but just the overall spirit of the holiday is wonderful!!

Supplies:
Stamps:Very Punny (SAB 2007), Simply Circles
CS:Confetti White, Real Red, Basic Black
Ink:Real Red
Other: Real Red and Basic Black Markers, Circle Punches in the following sizes - 1/4", 1/16", 1 1/4", & 1 3/8", Word Window Punch, Stampin' Dimensionals, Crystal Effects, Narrow Organdy Ribbon - Black, Black brads (from the Vintage Brads), White Uni-Ball Gel Pen (for swirl in lollipop which turned red after the crystal effects was added and for the lollipop stick)

Christmas Peaceful Wishes

Here is one of the cards I'm going to be sending out this year. Yep - still haven't mailed my cards nor have I finished them! Yikes!! The past couple I've made have been on the super simple side. I figured I better make them simple and few steps or they will end up being New Year's cards instead (which I've done in the past and I'm definitely not opposed to doing again). With so much to finish - I really can't be stressing over cards. I also keep finding myself doing other things than I what I should be - have I mentioned that I'm the ultimate in procrastination?!! :)

I still need to make 2 3.5x3.5 scrapbooks for DH's grandmothers, 2 7x7 scrapbooks for our mothers, wrap the kids gifts, purchase DH's gifts (to my defense - he just gave me a list of things this weekend), make cards, mail cards, print Christmas picture, and I'm sure there are other things I should/could do.

Supplies:
Stamps:Peaceful Wishes
CS:VV, Cranberry Crisp, True Thyme
Ink:Cranberry Crisp, True Thyme
Other:Cranberry Stitched Grosgrain Ribbon, Xmas Red Stickles

{pretty in pink}

I have been super busy with trying to get things ready for Christmas, so I apologize for not updating my blog more often. Not to mention - all 3 of my kids were sick and now my DH and I are sick. Of course, this has really slowed me down because I don't feel like doing anything when I'm sick. I also have been sleeping all day for a couple days - really puts a hamper on stamping and crafting that NEEDS to be done for Christmas!!

Anyway - here is a page I made of Mackenzie. I just love all the prima flowers and 'bling' on this page!! :) Mackenzie can really test your nerves, but all she has to do is just smile at you and it melts your heart (as can all my children)!! :)

Supplies:
Stamps:Technique Tuesday (Girl word stamps)
Ink:Basic Black
Other:Wild Asparagus PP, Close to Cocoa cs, Transparency (www.transparenttouches.com), Pink Gems, Prima flowers, Stickles in center of flowers, ribbon

The pp, ribbon, big flower, brad, and pink gems are from the Nov Just Enough Kit Please from Serendipity Scrapbooks (www.serendipityscrapbooks.com) .

Tip of the Week--How to Fix or Hide Those Mistakes

This tip is from Creative Crew member Julie Warner.
How to Fix or Hide Those Mistakes

If the cardstock you are using is white and you make a mistake coloring with a water based marker or any non-permanent dye ink, try painting on a very small amount of bleach. This will remove most colors of markers and dye ink. Use the bleach sparingly and do not rub it as this will tear the cardstock. Important: Always use a Synthetic bristle paintbrush with bleach because bleach will eat up a natural bristle paintbrush.

If you have a tip that you would like to submit for this feature or have it included in our Tips page on our web site, please email it to us at lasImpPan@aol.com. Please put Tip in the subject line!

Family Fun

Here is a layout I finished the other night. I really like how this turned out. I used a sketch from one of the many sites I frequent. :) I've been trying to scrap at least one for every couple cards I make.

Supplies:
Stamp:Season by Season
PP:Wild Asparagus
Transparency:Transparent Touches & Tags (www.transparenttouches.com)
Metal Charms:Unknown (these were silver snowflakes and I used a Gold Zig Painty to color them to match the pp better)

That's it - very simple, but a satisfying layout to finish. :) One down - only a gazillion more to go!

Perennial Friendship

This is a set from the New SU! Winter Mini - Perennial Friendship. I made this card for a swap I was in (40 of them to be exact). I'm not one for mass producing, but to get the AWESOME samples back - I do it for this swapping group only!! :) They truly are some of the most talented stampers I have the opportunity of swapping with.

This card actually took a lot of thought. The set itself I found to be hard to utilize. I love flowers and such, but this set didn't jump out at me. There is only this one image of flowers and the rest are verses/greetings. Anyway - I am really pleased with how this turned out - a lot of steps, but well worth it.

Supplies:
Stamps:Perennial Friendship, Print Pattern BG, French Script BG
CS:So Saffron, Old Olive, WW
Ink:Basic Black, Old Olive
Other:Designer Label Punch, 1/16 Circle Punch, Double Rectangle Punch, Gold Brads, Stampin' Dimensionals, Narrow Organdy Ribbon - Olive, Aqua Painter, Watercolor Crayons (So Saffron, Old Olive, Pumpkin Pie), Cutter Kit (distressing the So Saffron cs under the flower image), Stamping Sponge (sponged Old Olive ink on the edges of the Old Olive cs)

I'm not sure why I couldn't post the other day, but I wasn't the only one. I decided to look into it and lo and behold - found the answer. Ctrl + F5 for those who are having the same problem with not being able to upload images. Use this function on the page where you upload and the option will return. :) So glad I found the answer - it would have driven me crazy!!

Saturday, December 02, 2006

UGH! I came on to upload some artwork, but for some reason it isn't giving me an option to do it. All I can do is type, but not add pictures.

Just wanted to say I haven't forgotten my blog readers. I'll try again tomorrow.
